Infury Sleddogs Make History with Gold in Sportgastein, Austria

A second-ever on-snow Gold Medal for Great Britain in sled dog racing

Sportgastein, Austria — 2024

Infury Sleddogs once again made history on the international mushing stage, claiming Gold in the 4-Dog 2 category at the World Sleddog Association event in Sportgastein, Austria.

The 2024 competition was a demanding two-day test, with teams racing 9km each day in challenging snow conditions.

Higher-than-usual temperatures had left the snow extremely soft, creating a physically demanding trail that tested both dogs and mushers to their limits. Racing over two consecutive days meant that consistency, fitness and teamwork were essential.

Despite the difficult conditions, the Infury team delivered two strong performances to secure Gold.

🇬🇧 Making British history

This victory was about much more than winning another race.

The Sportgastein result became only the second-ever on-snow Gold Medal for Great Britain in sled dog racing — another historic achievement for British mushing and for Infury Sleddogs.

For the team, it was also a hugely significant milestone, becoming our second on-snow Gold Medal and adding another major achievement to Infury's international racing record.

After years of competing at the highest level, once again Infury Sleddogs were not simply taking part — we were making history for Great Britain.

From challenging trails to international podiums, the journey continues.

Another race. Another victory. Another piece of history made.
