When Racing Has to Come Second
In 2025, Infury Sleddogs made the difficult decision to miss the Italian Dryland Championships to care for beloved former champion Invi during his final days. A race can never be more important than the dogs themselves.
When the 2026 Romanian snow race was cancelled due to deteriorating conditions, Infury turned the setback into an opportunity, securing valuable snow training in Germany and a surprise second place in the German Snow Championships. With the 2027 World Championships returning to the same venue in Unterjoch, the experience could prove invaluable.
But the road ahead is becoming increasingly challenging. With international transport and dog passport costs soaring, Infury needs sponsorship and support to compete at the upcoming Dryland World Championships in Strohen and continue the journey towards 2027.
A bronze medal in Γstersund, Sweden, was not the result Infury Sleddogs had hoped for. After weeks of intensive preparation β including two weeks living in the van with the dogs in temperatures dropping to β30Β°C overnight β the team arrived in fantastic form. The dogs were exceptional, but handling errors led to two late starts and lost valuable time caught in the pack of racers. The dogs were brilliant; the result was a hard lesson in the tiny margins that can decide international racing.

In November 2024, Infury Sleddogs secured a record sixth World Championship title at Haughley Park, Suffolk.
After arriving to -2Β°C and snow, temperatures soared to an incredible 19Β°C, forcing the final day of racing to be cancelled.
Despite the disruption and racing with just three dogs, Infury led Team GB to a remarkable clean sweep of the DR4-2 podium, with British athletes taking all three places.

In 2024, Infury Sleddogs claimed Gold in the 4-Dog 2 category at the World Sleddog Association event in Sportgastein. Two tough days of 9km racing in soft snow and unusually warm temperatures tested both dogs and musher to their limits.
The victory was historic β only the second-ever on-snow Gold Medal for Great Britain in sled dog racing, and Infuryβs second on-snow Gold.
